This Mama Loves- Klorane Dry Shampoo

I probably shouldn't admit this but I am a die- hard dry shampoo fan. I have really thick, curly hair which takes ages to blow dry and dry shampoo gives me an extra day in between washes. It may sound gross but dry shampoo is really this mama's secret BFF.

Klorane isn't really a new discovery for me. I used to use it years ago but it's quite hard to get hold of and little more expensive than good old Batiste. I stumbled across it in a pharmacy a few weeks ago and we swiftly rekindled our friendship once again.

What I love about Klorane:
  • It's odourless ( I personally hate eau de dry shampoo, reminding me that I haven't bothered to wash my hair all day)
  • Great for sensitive skin thanks to the Oat Milk Formula
  • It's Paraben, Colourant and Sulfate free!!
  • No tell tale white residue
  • Gives great volume

The directions on the back suggest that you brush it out after 2 mins but I just massage my scalp a little- brushing makes my hair frizzy- and that works just fine. I totally forget that I've used a dry shampoo, you can't feel it in your hair at all.

I also love Batiste Fresh but personally I that Klorane is the best dry shampoo, it definitely has the edge over anything else I've tried. What's your favourite dry shampoo??

Little Jones Style: The little E edition

Ever since I can remember, E has quite definite ideas about what she will and won't wear. Over the course of time ( well, two and half years to be precise!) she has developed quite a unique sense of style. Some might call it Carrie Bradshawesque and slightly non conformist. I call it a pain in the bum, especially when we're in a hurry to go to ballet class and she is insisting on wearing her Princess Sofia Wellies and a Tiara- she is BIG on the accessories my girl. Either way, it makes for some fun photos to keep for when she's older and I hope she'll always have the confidence and attitude to wear whatever she wants as she grows up!

Above Left: A pretty summer dress. Right: A Vintage ( Mama's) Raincoat and Raincoat bag used an accessory to carry her Raisins! Worn with skinny jeans and Princess Sofia Wellies.

I love these sunglass print leggings from Next worn with a broderie anglaise T-shirt from Boots Mini Club.

Above Left: Parasol and Cheongsam- a gift from Singapore. Above Right: Strolling home after lunch in her princess tutu.

Above left:A whole pack of glittery hair clips from John Lewis.  Sometimes we have to chose our battles and this was definitely one of those days. We weren't going to get out of the house without a tantrum, unless she got to wear this unique hairstyle.
Above Right: Saltwater Sandals ( our new obsession)- These are the Sun- San Sweetheart Sandals in silver from Trotters. Love how they are durable enough to be worn in the sea yet pretty enough to wear to a party.

Splurge or Save

My cousin is getting married this summer and I have been assigned with the task of helping her find the perfect wedding shoe. Along the way, my own shoe wish list has been getting longer and longer. Top of the pile for both of us has to be Christian Louboutin's breathtakingly beautiful Body Strass heels.
I was super excited to discover that they also do a flat version (Left). These would be perfect for me, I wouldn't have to worry about tripping up whilst carrying/ chasing after my little ones. I know I know I'm not supposed to be looking for myself.... but I just can't help it......ooops!!
I wasn't however, as enamoured by the price tag! These Shiny Ballerina Flats from Zara ( Right) are a steal at £39.99 and still have the same nude, floating crystal effect. I'm in Love!!

Little Jones Style: The Little White Company Haul

I am a self confessed shopaholic, and when E was tiny I was totally spoiled for choice when it came to buying cute and stylish baby girl clothes. Unfortunately baby boy's clothing is a bit of a grey area, on the whole the selection is generally pretty dire. Baby boy's collections tend to be a fraction of the size of the girls' selection and infinitely less stylish. I'm so fed up with primary coloured, dinosaur covered tops or outfits that resemble something a poorly dressed middle age man would wear.

Last week however, I stumbled upon the The Little White Company's summer collection in their Sloane Square shop and it is a total breath of fresh air. In fact it called for something of a haul... here are some of the goodies we came home with:

With all these goodies for Mr Rufio, I of course had to find something for little E too. At two and a half, she is pretty tall for her age and I struggle to find age appropriate clothing for her. Luckily for us, the little girl's selection was equally as alluring:

I'm loving all these lightweight sundresses for little E and cool cottons for Mr Rufio. I can't wait for some summer sunshine so they can finally get to try out their new wardrobes!!

Gloss + Polish

As I'm sure you all know, getting my nails done is one of my biggest treats. Since becoming a Mama, I rarely get a chance to go to a nail salon these days.  Last week however, I had one of the best Mani/ Pedi's I have ever had in London, all in the comfort of my own home!

Gloss + Polish is a classic Manicure and Pedicure service brought to you at home or in your office, in Kensington and the surrounding areas. My technician arrived on my doorstep with a teeny weeny tardis of a suitcase jam packed full of anything you could possibly need for the perfect manicure, including a fold up stool and a mat to protect your floor from any spills.

The treatment was completely waterless which is much kinder to the environment than your regular nail treatment ( did you know that the average salon uses 12-15 gallons of water per pedicure!!). Waterless manicures can also last longer, by preventing the nail beds from expanding in water and thus increasing polish survival rates. I was a little bit sceptical as to how the technician would tackle the hard skin on my feet without water but I can happily report back that following my treatment, my heels were totally baby soft and smooth!

I choose from a small, but very well selected range of Essie polishes and settled on a gorgeous pale blue called Rock the Boat and the classic, Really Red, for my toes.

This is such a convenient service, you can book and pay online and even include a tip. Gloss + Polish have seriously thought of everything, making manicures for busy London ladies completely hassle free!
